To the Editor: It's a new year now and we are all a year older. I'll be an old lady of 39 in 2004. Eeek! Everyone got their fill of Christmas goodies. Santa brought out the loot, and those naughty ones got a lump of coal in the boot. On New Year's I had Mom's favorite -- root beer and popcorn. Grandma Meuwissen used to eat popcorn like cereal and put cream and sugar on it. Even an onion sandwich at breakfast she'd have, and she lived to be 92. Died 21 years ago this year January. Mom died 13 years ago this February. I saw your famous fishhook on page 34. Get out the pole and bait for Father Conran Schneider. Maybe he will play sheephead and outfox the opponents. Nice article on the foodshelf. Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you for the nice photos of Bill and Maureen. I reduced them in Photo-shop. Cheers. Gina Eaton Waterbrooke Fellowship
To the Editor: Do I live in the best part of the world or what! First, my good friend Tony Aretz cleared my driveway. When he wasn't able to continue, Bob Schmieg was Johnny on the Spot. Bob moved and Dale Carroll stepped in with help from Skelly Vogel when Dale is hunting or fishing. Do I get a bill? It's your guess. So here's a public thank you. I am so blessed with wonderful neighbors. Liz Diethelm Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: To the editor and all the Gazette households, I wish for peace and happiness at Christmas and throughout the New Year. Thank you for your wonderful work. Mrs. Frank Schneider Shakopee, Minnesota
To the Editor: I seem to have lost my November 2003 Victoria Gazette. If you have an extra somewhere, could you send me a replacement? I am trying to obtain the column by Ethel Ausink. C. Chase Mound, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. The Hungary trip put me in a different frame of mind this year, and I was able to let go of many of the stress-induced activities I normally would have indulged. Attached is my article for the January Gazette. I could have written pages. My heart is in Hungary now. I can hardly wait to see what God is going to do. It's big. May God richly bless you and your family through the love, grace, and peace that is ours through Christ Jesus. Love, Pastor Maureen Bonner Waterbrooke Fellowship

To the Editor: Attached in Word 2000 format is a good article from a nationally syndicated columnist named Charley Reese. This information supports Ethel Ausink's last two columns in the Gazette and may be helpful to her. After reading, you may want to forward or print a copy for Ethel. This article came from the December 24th, 2003, issue of the Wright Way Shopper. I get it in Long Lake. It's an interesting little paper. Charley Reese was at one time a speech writer for one of our past presidents. You can write him and ask which one. Blessings. Charlie Chase Long Lake, Minnesota
