Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
I would like to thank former Victoria Mayor Mary Meuwissen and the 2002 City Council for my past appointment to the 2002 Victoria Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.  It was a great opportunity, and I was privileged to serve with a group of dedicated citizens.
The appointment allowed me to witness the amount of effort and time that Mayor Meuwissen, the Council, and staff -- especially Administrator Steve Sarvi and Planner Mark Kaltsas -- put into all city business, but particularly the immense task of creating the Victoria Field House.
In addition, Secretary Sherrie Jones went beyond the call of duty to keep recreation programming going during this time.
Although I didn't always agree with the methods, I can't deny that all the aforementioned politicians and staff were sincere and heartfelt in effort.  As a citizen of Victoria, I thank them for their passion and the chunk of their life they contributed to bettering the quality of our lives in this city.
Sincerely,
Victoria Bont

To the Editor:
Returning home from holiday shopping shortly before noon today, December 20th, 2002, I came upon a serious car accident at Highway 5 and Minnewashta Parkway.
The accident must have just happened, as ambulances, sheriff's cars, the Highway Patrol, and the Victoria fire vehicles were all converging on the scene.  It was awful to watch and think of the trauma to the car occupants, the rescuers, and the witnesses who had stopped to help.
This is not a pretty holiday story, except that as I watched and prayed, I again became so thankful for the angels that are always there to help us when we are in need.  We are so blessed to have them.

To the Editor:
Thank you for getting the January 27th, 2003, bloodmobile information out into the local world for us.  We truly do appreciate the help.  Have a great Christmas and a New Year filled with peace and happiness.

To the Editor:
Merry Christmas to the great Editor Sue and gang.  I'll be part of this fishy funny business; looks like the hook is on the spoon on page 9 in the St. Edward's Cookbooks.  Could be wrong.  Sue, may you have many holiday blessings.

To the Editor:
The date has been set for our spring Home and Garden Business Expo.  This year it will be held at the new Victoria Field House on Saturday, March 29th, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.  Mark your calendar today.  Chairperson for the committee is Jeff Wood of By the Woods.
There will be a mailing going out shortly to all Victoria Chamber of Com-merce members, previous expo exhibitors, and the vendors from our recent Home-Based Business Expo, and Waconia and Chaska Chambers.  We want registrations early so vendors can reserve their spot at this popular event.
Michelle Aspelin, Secretary

To the Editor:
Wish you and yours a Blessed Christmas season.  Your paper is a treasure for all who receive it.  Costs go up all the time; your increase in ad prices isn't a big item.  Keep up the good work.

To the Editor:
Happy Holidays to you.  The fishhook is in the Hartman Tree Farm ad, in the right arm of the snowman on page 10.  If I get my name drawn, give it to Father Conran Schneider who does so much for all people all over.  Thanks.

To the Editor:
To our children, grandchildren, relatives, neighbors, and friends for making our 50th anniversary such a special day.  Thank you for your generosity and love shown to us in any way.  May God bless you all.
