To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Recently I e-mailed you to let you know that Nancy Ronhovde, principal of Guardian Angels Catholic School in Chaska, won the Outstanding Principal of the Year Award for the St. Paul/Minneapolis Archdiocese. Well, now she has been given the Outstanding Principal of the Year Award for the entire Great Lakes Region. The Great Lakes Region is made up of eight states. Nancy Ronhovde is the regional winner of this award handed out by the NCEA in New York. She is one of only 12 principals given awards in the United States. Please consider covering this story in the Victoria Gazette. Some of the Guardian Angels students live in Victoria, and I am sure they would love to read about this in the paper. Thank you for your time. Sheri Rovansek Guardian Angels School Volunteer Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Merry Christmas, Sue, and to all of your family. We hope you have a joyous holiday season and a happy and exciting New Year. The way Victoria is rapidly changing, developing, and growing is very exciting in itself. We don't yet know when our next trip to Victoria will be, but we will see more new construction than ever before, such as the new bridge and, of course, new homes, and the field house. Is there anyone else that you mail the Gazette to who lives in Sacramento? If so, I might know who they are and maybe I might contact them. We'll try to make it back next year to see the new develop-ment in Victoria. Our warmest wishes, David and Margaret Kirsch Sacramento, California
To the Editor: As chairperson of the CAP Agency Board of Directors, I ask that you please take a moment this holiday season to con-sider a financial contribution to the CAP Agency's Give Where You Live annual campaign. Last year over 27,000 adults and children received help from the CAP Agency. These people are our friends, our neighbors, our colleagues, and our fellow parishioners. Please join me in offering support to local people and in making an investment in the community. Donations to Give Where You Live can be sent to the CAP Agency at 712 Canterbury Road South, Shakopee, MN 55379, or you can make a contribution online at www.capagency.org. Give Where You Live donations help fund a variety of CAP Agency services such as the Crisis Nursery, Meals on Wheels, Senior Dining, Emergency Ser-vices, the Food Shelf, Getting There vehicle ownership program, and other community projects. Thank you. Wayne Holtmeier Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Dear Sue, would you squeeze this note or something similar into your famous publication? Dear People, If you would see a sample of my handwriting, you would know why you have not received a Christmas card from me this year. Arthritis has made inroads into my hands and fingers, making writing virtually impossible. But I had to let you know I wish you all God's choicest blessings of the season ~ with warm affection and gratitude for being in my life. God love you all always. With prayers of sincerity and love, Father Elstan Our Lady of the Angels Friary 100 Stardust Drive Sherman, Illinois 02682
To the Editor: Thank you to the Victoria community for your generosity during December and our CAP Agency Toy drive. We collected more toys than ever, and your donations made Christmas special for the less for-tunate children in Carver and Scott Counties. Thank you. The Staff at Victoria State Bank And The Chaska Jaycees
To the Editor: Happy New Year. While we close the books on 2002, we look forward to 2003 and all the opportunities that wait for us. As individuals in our community let's resolve to support broad and compre-hensive anti-violence public policy, stand up against bigoted behavior or comments, express intolerance for gangs and bully-ing, and be a positive role model for others. Let's resolve to make 2003 a year of peace in our communities. It's a resolu-tion worth keeping. Bobbi Holtberg Southern Valley Alliance for Battered Women Belle Plaine, MN 56011
