To the Editor:
I have given a gift subscription to the Victoria Gazette to Willys Born who passed away and so has his wife so you can take their name off your mailing list.  Enclosed is a check for my own subscrip-tion for another year.  I like your paper.
Yours truly,
Delores Hilk, Waconia, Minnesota

To the Editor:
Happy New Year to you and your staff, who make the Gazette a most inter-esting paper each month.  Thank you.  The fishhook is on page 38 in the couch potato ad of Linda Matthias.

To the Editor:
Hello, Sue.  I told you I would email you with my address so that I can be caught up on all of the latest Victoria news and views.  I'm sure you keep the Gazette really steamy.  Thanks again.  I will see you on Sunday morning.

To the Editor:
Happy Valentine's Day.  Christmas is done for another ten months.  Leftover Christmas eats are either in the freezer or given away at Christmas a week after Christmas.
A week after Christmas I already saw Valentine candy and Easter candy in some catalogs, with St. Patrick's Day items  also.  That's a little too soon in my opinion.  After Christmas dinner, the couch potato felt pretty smashed, too pooped out to go fishing with Father Conran Schneider, who would prefer to go fishing with his brother Vic in May on Lake Minnetonka.  I can hear him saying, "I'll beat you to the sunnies."
My mom passed away 17 years ago on February 17th, 2007.  She would have been 80 this coming May 13th

To the Editor:
Sue, it's me, Diane Pehrson, a descendant of Wendelin Grimm.  A long time ago you gave me the Clarence and Dorothy Kelzer phone number.  I have since misplaced that number.  Do you mind sharing it with me again?  Since then, do you by any chance have any other descendants' phone number or email addresses?
What made me remind myself to email you is that going through my father's collection of family history, I saw an original section of the Glencoe Enterprise dated July 2nd, 1926, with the picture of Wendelin and his wife, a picture of the monument in Victoria and a group picture.
This backs up and adds to your com-ment on the Gazette website:  "It was back in 1924 that more than 700 farmers, seed dealers, relatives, university scien-tists, newspaper reporters, and locals gathered at the Grimm Farm to erect this monument, thanks to the promotional efforts of a neighbor who reported that alfalfa plant's success to the University of Minnesota."

To the Editor:
In response to your question in the January issue of the Gazette - perhaps someone has already told you - there were two buildings located just to the right of the Notermann store.  One was Lyman Lumber Company and one was a blacksmith building.  Somewhere I have a postcard photo taken from the [former] railroad tracks that shows a better view of these two buildings and when I find it, I will send you a copy.

To the Editor:
Great job on our son Jason's story.  You made us very happy.  Peg and I want to thank you for bringing it to the resi-dents of Victoria and as well as your large readership outside the community of Victoria.

To the Editor:
I work with Erin Rech at Ridgeview Medical Center in the marketing depart-ment.  I'm sure we'll be in touch often as news happens at Ridgeview.  Our Home-care Department recently realigned a sub-set of their homecare services, which affects Carver and Hennepin Counties, and I thought you might be interested in this news as you work on your next issue of the Gazette.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Thank you.
