Two Other Businesses at Kid Talk in Downtown Victoria:

Mark Wegscheid is the President and owner of Broadband America Corporation, which finds its home in downtown Victoria on the top level of the Kidtalk Building.  Broadband America, a company that he began in December of 2001, is an installer of voice and data equipment.  "We build communication rooms and pull in the cable that provides the pathway for the information to travel on," said Mark.  "Broadband America is responsible for all voice and data services for several major national retailers around the country."
Mark said there is a second company called Broadband Solutions, a Wireless Internet Service Provider.  "We broadcast high speed broadband connectivity from towers in Olivia, Brownton, Silver Lake, Litchfield, and, by summer, Cologne and Victoria as well," he said.  "This service is currently geared toward residents that are in rural areas or new developments."
Mark has 26 employees, many installing cable in buildings and communication rooms, some also in accounting, sales, working the national network, taking orders for wireless high speed, and scheduling installs.

Joe and Shirley Dudak are the owners of Dudak Production Inc., which finds its home in downtown Victoria on the street level of the Kidtalk Building.  Dudak Production has been in business since November 13th, 1996.  It relocated to its new Victoria space last year.
"We are in the consulting and project management business," said Joe, "with an emphasis on print.  Our background includes retail signage, point of purchase, direct mail, and packaging."
There are three fulltime employees at Dudak Production Inc.  "We also work with a number of freelancers for individual projects," said Shirley.

One is most likely to meet Lisa Duchene, Senior Account Manager, when first calling or contacting Dudak Production.  Welcome, all of you, to Victoria

Book Bonanza.  Just had to share this great news from Victoria Elementary School.  The 1st Annual Book Bonanza was a huge success!  Over 2,000 children's beautiful like-new books were donated.  Students organized and priced books and clerked in the store.  Books were priced at kid prices of 50 cents to $3 each.  Funds raised:  $1,500!  The money will be used to provide enrichment opportunities for all kids at Victoria Elementary School.
A group of kids attended a Creativity Work-shop, and an upcoming Writers' Workshop is planned.  The best bonus of all is that everyone had terrific new reading material to enjoy over winter's Christmas break.

Cards for Kindness.  Students at Victoria Elementary School made Cards for Kindness in December with the purpose of spreading random acts of kindness to others, and also to connect parents, teachers, students, and community.  Cards for Kindness were delivered through-out the community.  Cards were donated to Community Living in Victoria, School District 112 Main office, Mount Olivet Rolling Acres in Victoria, Auburn Manor at Chaska, and the Victoria Field house.  About 165 kids were involved in the project.
