Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
Thanks for working so hard to make a wonderful newspaper that enables new-comers like me to become familiar with their new surroundings.  Your paper rocks!!  (And, yes, I do read it from cover to cover.)  See you Wednesday.

To the Editor:
I just have to say how impressed I was with your story last June on where your paper is printed, at Crow River Press in Hutchinson.  It sounds as if it would be a very good company to work for.  I got the impression that the company has very good work ethics.
I work for a newspaper company as an inserter.  I really like what I'm doing and I feel as if I'm good at it.  My mom and I really enjoy the Victoria Gazette.  In closing, have a great 2005.

To the Editor:
Great idea to show photos of the building boom in Victoria in your last edition of the Gazette.  It gives your subscribers who have an affection for Victoria a better feel for what is happen-ing here.

To the Editor:
This is a follow-up to my previous email announcing my resignation.  I wanted to give an update to everyone as to who your new Health Educator will be for the 2005 grant year so that when you begin getting correspondence from her, you will know who she is.
I am pleased to announce that our new Health Educator is Mary Jo Kamerud.  Mary Jo has been training for about 1 ½ weeks now and is very excited to enter this position.  She currently lives in Chanhassen and will be continuing the grant where I left off.  All programming with the grant will stay the same for 2005 under Mary Jo.
Mary Jo will be up and running on the system within a week or two.  At that time she will be sending out a more de-tailed letter introducing herself and giving her contact information.  I trained with her until the beginning of February.
Thank you for everything.  Have a great 2005!  Take care.

To the Editor:
On behalf of the CAP Agency, its Board of Directors, and families we serve, thank you.  Because of your generosity, over 1,188 families enjoyed a Christmas season filled with joy and hope.  This program would not be possible if not for sponsors such as yourself.  We are so grateful for your willingness to support this program.  We look forward to part-nering with you in 2005 to again provide "Hope for the Holidays."
Happy New Year.

To the Editor:
Congratulations to Gramsie Editor and the latest addition to the Orsen clan.  Big Sister Addie Sue has a nice fishing buddy now.  Speaking (or writing) of ice fishing, I did a bit of ice fishing myself and I reeled it in before Father Conran.  Fish ahoy, mates.  Thar she is!  The fish-hook is on page 29 around the window in the Edward Jones ad.
Happy Valentine's Day.  Happy Birthday to Tanta Ethel Schmieg on February 13th.

To the Editor:
Thousands of Minnesotans covered the State Capitol grounds in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Saturday, January 22nd, at the annual Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life March for Life.  MCCL is a pro-life organization that words to educate the public about life issues and pass legisla-tion protecting the right to life.
January 22nd marked the 32nd anniver-sary of Roe V. Wade and Doe V. Bolton, the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court rulings that legalized abortion on demand.  In Minne-sota 485,000 unborn babies have been killed since Roe v. Wade; 46 million have been killed nationwide since the ruling.
The MCCL March for Life gives citizens the opportunity to publicly stand up for the right to life and to promote the new Positive Alternatives Act which would help women in need.
Positive Alternatives would provide state funding to Minnesota's 100 preg-nancy care centers, which are limited by tight budgets in helping more women in need.  The bill would also fulfill the 1978 Minnesota Statute 256B.011 which estab-lished that the state prefers childbirth over abortion and will support a woman in choosing so.
Pregnancy care centers help women with an unplanned pregnancy by provid-ing emotional support, medical attention, housing assistance, adoption services, and education for parenting and employment.
On January 22nd, thousands of Minne-sotans were present at the State Capitol to support these women and the rights of unborn babies by calling for passage of the Positive Alternatives Act.
