To the Editor: Hey, I love the idea of calling it Lake Victoria! That's what we called it when I was a kid growing up. We never heard about Stieger until more recent years, but that the family once owned a small piece of land that had lakeshore. How it got to be so named, we may never know. Per-haps it was a situation of not what one knows but who one knows. As an aside, I will be speaking to the first and second grade kids at Victoria Elementary School. The planners for the school had the classes named for various lakes in the area, but I will be concentrat-ing on Lake Auburn and Stieger Lake. I think their naming plan was great. I will ask the kids what they think about the name change to Lake Victoria. I've been really impressed by the school, which has over 600 kids. Wow! I will tell the kids how lucky they are to have such a fine school. Ron Holtmeier Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor: I was wondering where I can get a copy of last month's Victoria Gazette. I heard that the Holy Family Cross Country team is in there and my son is on the team. Wanted a copy for his scrapbook. Judy Stoffel Chanhassen, Minnesota
To the Editor: We have two subscriptions to the Gazette for the St. Joseph Catholic Church and School. Could you be sure that one label is addressed to the Parish Office and the other to the School Principal? We want to be sure the copies get to the proper desk. Thank you. To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Our first light snowfall is melting away on the streets and grass, but can see snow on the gravel alley yet. Lucky we don't have more. Century Wine has good buys and also a fishhook in the ad, hiding in the "t" of Century on page 12. Have a great week and a Happy Thanksgiving. Marie Otten Waconia, Minnesota
To the Editor: I checked my records and confirmed that I am not on your deadbeat nonpay-ment list.
