To the Editor: Your November article was so uplifting to read. Thank you for your words that always are beautiful. You have a gift that gives sunshine to the soul. Knowing God, we can always find some-thing beautiful ahead of us. It is mostly an attitude and perspective moving towards the positive. We will be with the orphans in Hungary until November 29th. We would ask for prayers for safety, good health, and a time of sharing Jesus' love with a group of kids who have had little love in their lives. To the Editor: We had the pleasure of having Dick and Donna Plocher at our home overnight. They currently are living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and are in the area visiting friends and relatives. They came to Lake Auburn Moravian Church on Sunday, November 6th, and then to our home for lunch and an overnight, then a tour of the Arboretum, newer areas of Victoria, Rick and Mary's acres, and a nice chat with Nora and Lorenz Adam. Dick is the son of Ralph and Ruth Plocher, former Victoria residents, now deceased. After breakfast today at our home, they are off to do some shopping at Dueber's and have lunch at Lenny and Ardes Koehnen's home. Then they'll be off to visit Dick's sister Ruby. Ron Holtmeier Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: "Cutting" around the corner on the Nature's Bounty ad in the November issue of the Gazette, I managed to eye a unique gift for the fisherman. The fishhook is on page 12, on the scissors. Merry Christmas and Happy 2006. Party hearty. Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you for providing a forum for your readers and the school board candi-dates of District 112. I heard from many of your readers throughout the campaign. They often cited your paper as their source for candidate information. I thank the voters of District 112 for re-electing me and our other incumbents to represent their voice for another term on the school board. If the successes of the last four years are any determinate of the next four, you will not only witness but also actively participate in helping manage area growth while delivering a challenging education to each of our students. Your teachers, administrators, school board, and all of the core District staff re-quire your support in the classroom, at home, and throughout our communities to keep focus on the excellence in education. You have spoken out about, and responded positively to, our educational needs in supporting referenda. You have helped insure that we have adequate funds to drive student achievement, maintain our facilities, and build for the future. You have helped shape the District vision to evolve with our community values steeped in mutual respect, integ-rity, learning, human worth, dignity, and citizenship. You have spoken and we can be proud of our accomplishments and confi-dent in our preparedness as we make decisions for the future of education in District 112 . This year you will be hearing our new Superintendent David Jennings ask you to give your time and best thinking on the next phase in our Long Range Facility Plan, the selection of our Chief Academic Officer, Middle School Boundary Com-mittee, and Budget Task Force. Running and building a high perform-ing school district has many rewards and challenges that require continued invest-ment from all members of our communi-ties. You school board selections will help insure continuity to the vision and mission of the District, and I am honored for the opportunity to again be your rep-resentative. Thank you. Diane Koban Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I would like to thank all residents who gave me their vote of confidence in the election for the District 112 School Board. A special thanks to my family and friends for their support, especially Lawana, Bev, Cindy, and Betty. I am very excited to start this new venture and to serve you, the community, over the next four years. I will do my best to advocate for students, families, and staff. Our students deserve the highest quality education whether in the regular curriculum, ESL, Special Ed, or PAC programs. I look forward to working with our community on these issues as well as addressing school nutrition, bullying, and so many other preventative areas that would allow our students to learn in safe healthy schools. As our school district meets the challenge of continuing growth, I will ex-pect higher administrative accountability and visibility and efforts to focus on district communication. Thank you again for your votes, and I assure you I will approach this new role with an open mind and much enthusiasm. Sally Stuckey Chanhassen, Minnesota
