"City Scoop Dec. '04" continued

*Council approved the 2005 budget of the Lake Minnetonka Communications Commission projecting revenues and ex-penditures approximating $420,000.  This is paid by the franchise fees, not taxpayer dollars.
*Councilmembers approved $500 toward the funding of the Carver County Elected Leadership Program.  Due to popular demand, the county is expanding the program to invite residents appointed to city committees, as well as those elect-ed to city office.
*Councilmembers approved the con-tract with Labor Relations Associates out of Golden Valley at a cost of $6,895 to develop a performance evaluation system and pay scale for city employees consis-tent with state and federal law.  The project is expected to require 12 weeks beginning December 13th, 2004.
*Councilmembers engaged Abdo, Eick and Meyers at an estimated fee of $22,100 to perform the city's annual audit for fiscal year 2004.
*Councilmembers approved an ex-penditure of $1,090 for materials to con-struct a freestanding message and infor-mation center for the Field House.  Randy Matheson donated his time and talent in constructing this Community Bulletin Board.
*Steve Sarvi suggested the possibility of a "wireless hot spot" at the Victoria Field House for parents and kids.  "It's actually a fairly easy thing to do over here," he said.  "We could have this for about $750.  All we need is an antenna."
*Council adopted a resolution that approves and adopts the Water Emergen-cy and Conservation Plan, which is in regard to the Homeland Security Act.
*Council adopted a resolution setting the Storm Water Utility Fee at $5 per quarter effective January 1st, 2005.  This new fee can be changed as the city tries to project costs and determine an appropriate revenue for the Local Water Resource Management Plan.
