More Dec. 2002 Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
I wanted to wish you a very happy Thanksgiving.  I hope you have a great day.  Over here I'm fine.  My family is fine.  Thank God.
My little brother is going to be an exchange student to Germany.  It will be great for him, a new country to visit, and since we have our double nationality as Germans, let's hope he can stay there studying or working, because over here in Ecuador the new president is military and I'm so afraid of this guy so I don't think there is going to be any future over here.  My sister is still in the U.S.  She is doing well.  Her family is really nice as you were with me, so we are happy for her.  Also, since she was born in the U.S., she would like to stay for about a year more to work and then come back to Ecuador.
I have seen in the news that there might be a war against Iraq.  Let's hope it all calms down.  I'm afraid that this president of Ecuador becomes a dictator as Saddam Hussein.  That would be so bad for us.  Let's hope it does not happen.
I am focusing right now on a MBA, also on my work and on my German classes.  I'm learning German now.  It's okay and fun.  I would like to be trilingual.  That would be something!
Hope you have a great day and write me soon.  Bye bye.

To the Editor:
Hi, Editor Sue and Gang.  We are in the process of moving.  The County of Scott is purchasing all the property in our block to build a jail complex, so we have no choice but to pack up and get out.  Our new address after Dec. 16th will be 306 Shakopee Ave. East, Shakopee, Mn 55379-1315.  Hope all our friends and relatives will take note of this.  Can you still put this in your December Gazette?  Also, the fishhook is on page 11 in the Yetzer's ad of your November Gazette.

To the Editor:  Whoever is throwing rocks on Highway 5, knock it off!  That was my family coming home from a movie with the babysitter, when the passenger's window was shattered by something and glass landed all over Nick, who is 5.  The rock, or whatever it was, then sailed behind the babysitter's head and out the back window, shattering glass all over our 3-year old.
At first we thought it was a gun shot, until we found out that earlier in the day a man driving down Highway 5 into Victoria also had rocks thrown at his truck.  He tried to chase them down by the Carver Park Bike Trail but did not catch them.
If our daughter would have been sitting in the front seat, as she usually does, she would have been hit in the head.  This event really scared our kids as well as our babysitter.  So I need to ask, "Parents, do you know what your kids are doing???"
Thank you, dear Lord, for watching over my family.

Victoria State Bank celebrated its most recent remodeling with an Open House in November.  Customers were given a tour of the addition, which was completed in early November, and treated to refreshments and all were given chances to win several prizes including a DVD/VCR player/recorder, two sets of Vikings tickets, a rolling travel duffel, and much more.
We would like to congratulate all of our winners, especially Anne Marie Schmidt of Victoria, winner of the DVD/VCR; Bud Vogel of Victoria, winner of the travel duffel; Roland Olson of Victoria, winner of a set of Vikings tickets; and Stephanie White of Chaska, winner of the second set of Vikings tickets.
