To the Editor: I would like to thank the residents of Victoria for your support in my successful bid for mayor. To those of you who voted for me, I say thank you for your confi-dence. To those who did not, I will strive to earn your confidence by listening to your concerns, then acting in the best interests of our residents. Jerry Bohn, Mayor-Elect Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: First, I'd like to congratulate Mary Thun and Terry Bishop on their election to the Victoria City Council. I am sure they will serve our community well and help guide the future growth of our city. I wish both of them all the luck as we go forward. Second, I'd like to thank the many neighbors, friends, and supporters who voted for me. Your support means a lot. While I narrowly missed the same oppor-tunity, I do not feel defeated. Instead, I feel lucky for the opportunity and richer for the experience. I believe Tuesday, November 5th, was a shining example of democracy and a testament to the citizenship of Victoria residents. All day long there were long lines at the polling booths, numerous new voter registrations, and a thoughtful and educated electorate. It was a good thing to see a contested election, filled with energetic candidates who actively sought their offices. I do not think other cities our size can give the same boast. The next few years will bring a plethora of issues -- a school for our children, continued residential growth, downtown development, annexation of Laketown Township, all of them in a continuing tightening ring of financial resources. These issues will determine the course of Victoria and where we fit in the picture compared to our peer cities. This is a period of opportunity. I hope we seize it. Thanks again for everyone's support. Best of luck to the newly elected council-members and mayor, and may God bless our fair city. Todd A. Corbo, Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thanks for the recent fishhook check. As you can see from the enclosed map of Door County, Wisconsin, we are not just "a little off kilter." We are also "a little off center." Helen Schimmelpfennig, Fish Creek, Wisconsin,
To the Editor: Just a line to inform you of my change of address a few miles down the road. I would miss the Gazette with your newsy and interesting articles about the old home town that has grown so much since my last years there in the 1940's. Thank you. Dorothy Hill, Cottonwood, Arizona
To the Editor: This past October the CAP Agency received 2,400 applications for Energy Assistance, provided Food Shelf packages for 2,723 people in 760 households, gave out 870 children's winter coats, served 1,268 congregate dining and home-delivered meals to seniors, and arranged 53 crisis care placements for children under age 12. As families and individuals in Scott, Carver, and Dakota counties continue to reach out for help, we reach out for your help. The CAP Agency annual Give Where You Live campaign runs from November 15th to January 31st. Donations can be sent to the CAP Agency, 712 Canterbury Road S., Shakopee, MN 55379. Each year we are overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the community through support of Give Where You Live. To the Editor: I ran into Carol Vadnais at Kinko's yesterday and she said she would give you a copy of our neighborhood newsletter. I wanted you to see the column that Marlene Bohn writes, especially the piece on the Schneider boy. Marlene should write for you! Vicki Bont, Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Do you think this is worth repeating? A man asked me if I had Driver's Education when I was in high school. I said, "No, I didn't. In 1930 there weren't any cars." Ovid Northrop, Victoria, Minneosta
To the Editor: Enclosed is my check in the amount of $10, as I wish to subscribe to the Victoria Gazette. I have read it many times and have always enjoyed it. Thank you. Wally Lahl, Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: My mother, Gladys Hartmann, asked me to thank you for the beautiful roses you sent her for her birthday. She enjoyed them so much. She was also pleasantly surprised to see her picture on page 4 in the November issue of the Gazette. Thanks again for remembering her 95th birthday. She has many fond memories of writing the Senior Citizens Corner for the Gazette. Happy Thanksgiving. Gary Hartmann, Fridley, Minnesota
