To the Editor: As promised, I'm sending you my letter of thanks to Councilmember Terry Bishop upon his retirement from the Victoria City Council this past December of 2006. What a loss his death is for his family, our community, his friends and colleagues. Words do not express my sadness and shock over his untimely death. I meant every word I said in the letter. Terry Bishop was a great commu-nity leader, a teacher, and a colleague. Very truly yours, Kim Roden, City Councilmember Victoria, Minnesota
EDITOR'S NOTE: Kim's letter is reprinted in the paper issue of the Gazette on page 13.
To the Editor: Attached is a press release for Excelsior's Girls Night Out and a few photos. Some of your Victoria Gazette readers may find this weekly event in your neighboring community interesting. It has become very popular and is a place for your female readers to have a lot of fun. We'd love to answer any questions you may have regarding Girls Night Out in downtown Excelsior. Kathy Gagnon Excelsior, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Thank you so much for writing a wonderful story about my parents, Dalles and Karen, and our family. It's been fun for everyone in the family, talking to friends and neighbors who have read it. There was one omission in the story that I want to tell you about. There was no mention of my sister Roxie's husband Troy Sackett. Although we've often given him a hard time for being an Eden Prairie graduate and supporter in the past (I think he's fully converted over to Chaska pride now), he's a wonderful member of our family and we wouldn't ever want to leave him out of our family story. Brenda (Notermann) Moore Chanhassen, Minnesota
To the Editor: Pam Raser is retiring after 28+ years with the Carver County Sheriff's Office. Pam has had the distinction of working with Sheriff Bill Schalow, Sheriff Jack Hendrickson, Sheriff Al Wallin, and Sheriff Bud Olson. Pam has held the titles of Secretary Matron, Administrative Assistant, and her current position of Administrative Ser-vices Manager. Her never ending know-ledge of the history of the Carver County Sheriff's Office and her unique way of tending to every detail will be greatly missed. Join us to wish Pam the very best and thank her for dedication to Carver County on Wednesday, August 1st, at the Carver County Training Room from 3 to 4 p.m. and then the Chaska American Legion from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Leslie Michel Administrative Coordinator Carver County, Minnesota
To the Editor: I understand Thom Derr has a very nice article in the July issue of the Gazette about the mission trip to Venezuela. Now I have two questions. Would you mind if I used excerpts from it in the St. Victoria Newsletter and, if so, is it possible that you can email me the article? Or is there a place in town where they have copies available? Thank you. Mary Harvey St. Victoria, Minnesota
