Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
We would like to thank all the people who attended the Rural Life Mass on our farm on Sunday, June 23rd.  We would like to thank Father Bob for being on the prayer committee for a nice day.  He did a great job because just as the Mass was to begin, the rain stopped and we had a beautiful day.
Thanks to Jamie Moore for organiz-ing the liturgy and having all the choir members there, including the children.  Thanks to the choir members for their extra effort for that day.
Also thanks to Ken Diethelm and Linda Murakami who were the chairper-sons for the event and spent many hours giving of their time.  Also, thanks to all those from the St. Victoria Parish who were on the many committees who gave so much of their time and talent.  They all spent a lot of time preparing for this day, and we will miss seeing them here as they were busy preparing for all the different areas.
St. Victoria is truly blessed to have such dedicated people who are always willing to help.  If the State Fair would need a committee to organize, we have them at St. Victoria.
We would also like to thank our friends the Greggs.  Shirley captured all the events of the day on a video and Jay helped us out in many ways.
It was truly a day the Lord had made.  May God bless all of you.

To the Editor:
Thanks for the glossy pictures used in your article about Lee Ann in the July Gazette.  Yes, I did have some of them via e-mail, but not all, and not on that beautiful glossy paper -- which reminds me, suppose that's why Lee Ann gave me some of that paper before she left.  This is a good reminder for me to use it.
We appreciate your paper calling attention to the 5,500 sailors and naval aviators aboard the USS John F. Kennedy, one of the many ships guarding our precious freedom, and of your attention to Lee Ann's being there.  She is always glad to receive the hometown Gazette.  I am sure she will enjoy reading about Kelly Burau and Eric Chinnock, two of her former "babysittees," among the students in July's front page story.
What a day brightener to open the Gazette and see this feature!  You, Lee Ann, and the miracle of e-mail surprised us, indeed!  Thanks.

To the Editor:
Mike Ayres from Oppidan Invest-ment Company would like to have a copy of the picture that was published in the July, 2002, Volume 23, Issue 7, on the Victoria Field House.  It would be the picture of the shovelers above the captioned labeled, "Getting into the act."  Could you let us know if we could obtain a copy of the picture?  Thanks.

To the Editor:
The American Legions, VFW's, and Auxiliaries of Carver County will be honoring living World War II and Korean War Veterans on Sunday, August 11th, 2002.  This tribute will be featured as part of the Carver County Fair and will be held in the grandstand.
This special event will feature a fly-over, a recognition of World War and Korean Veterans, an invocation by Chaplain (retired) COL Howard A. Krienke, a keynote address by Chief of Chaplains (retired) MG Paul O. Forsberg, a bell-toll for those who were killed in action, and music by the Minnesota Valley Community Band.
The fly-over, featuring two T6 Texans airplanes, will start the program at 1:00 p.m. sharp.  A Carver County 4H group will present a skit during the cele-brations.  Military items from the era will be displayed.  Professional photographers will be capturing this event and a memory booklet will be published afterwards.
Please contact our World War and Korean War Veterans and invite them.  Each honored veteran will receive free passes for themselves and one guest, and they can be picked up at the main gate on Sunday.  Escorts will be provided, if nec-essary.  Transportation can be provided.
Call me at 952-467-3317 with any questions.  My e-mail address is AlanW.Krueger@WORLDNET@att.net.
