To the Editor: I just got through reading your column, "Hook, Line, and Sinker," where you said you hid the fishhook really well, that even you couldn't find it. Well, it was a piece of cake, it stood out so well to me. It's on page 8 in the General Store of Minnetonka ad. It's in the left foot of the tall girl with the curly hair. My husband Florian was ready to leave and he said, "Find the fishhook for me." I said, "Stay here and we'll find it together." I started paging through the Gazette, and it just bounced out at me. We just picked up the mail and I needed to unwind after working all morning. Sometimes it's harder to find and at times it's very easy. Keep up the good work. We enjoy the Gazette very much. Marcella and Florian Eder St. Bonifacius, Minnesota
To the Editor: Cute spot for the fishhook in the General Store ad. I haven't entered the contest for a while, but I figure it's time to try again. Enjoy the Gazette. Seems like I know the people who appear regularly. Have a good summer. Doris LeGault Mound, Minnesota
To the Editor: Enclosed is my check for $10. Please send the Gazette to my sister, Natalie Schammer, in New Brighton. I enjoy your paper and I know she will also. I've told her of so many interesting articles in your Gazette and about people we used to know. We were born and raised in Chaska. Thank you. Jean Verkennes Sun Lakes, Arizona
To the Editor: I'm interested in receiving the Victoria Gazette if it's not too spendy. I saw it at Vonnie's Hair Fashion in Chaska. Thanks. Gerty Lebens Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: During this fiscal year we have received two newsprint price increases totaling close to 17%. In spite of these increases, last November we lowered the newsprint price we were charging you. However, we will be receiving an additional 8% increase on September 1st, 2000. This is forcing us to re-examine our price schedule. We intend to have new price schedules reflecting these increases to you by September 1st, to be effective on that date. At this time I do not know what your new prices will be, as I will be working on this throughout the summer. It is our intention to keep these increases as low as possible for your benefit. The purpose of this letter is to keep you informed of changes in the news-print market and our need to react to those changes. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions. Chris Boesche, Controller Crow River Press Hutchinson, Minnesota
To the Editor: Those girls on page 8 of your July Gazette better wear their old shoes to do their fishing or else Ma will be telling them, "You dassen't do that!" I heard that many times from my own Ma. Muddy shoes and socks? "You must have been making mud pies. Wear your old shoes outside, Lady Jane!" "But, Ma, the old ones have holes." I wonder which is worse -- holes or a fishhook. As ever, Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
