To the Editor: On behalf of the City of Victoria and the Victoria City Council, I want to publicly congratulate Steve Burke, interim president of Holy Family Catholic High School in Victoria, and Matt Thuli, Dean of Students and Activities Director, and especially the student athletes at Holy Family for winning the Class 2A boys' State Basketball Championship. This is an extraordinary accomplish-ment in just six years of competition and is a testimony to the perseverance and work everyone is doing at Holy Family. Victoria is very proud of Holy Family Catholic High School and of all the things they continue to accomplish with their students. On behalf of the City of Victoria, I congratulate all the players, assistants, supporters, and parents. From what I have read, the victory was hard fought and certainly came with a lot of practice and determination on the part of the team throughout the season. This most recent championship, I am sure, is just part of the beginning of a long history of "winning" in so many ways on the part of Holy Family's students, parents, faculty, and administration. The City of Victoria is so thankful to have Holy Family Catholic High School as an active participating member of the Victoria Community, and we look forward to continued work together. Congratulations! Mary Hershberger Thun, Mayor City of Victoria Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Found your fishhook on page 16 in the St. Joseph's Parish Fish Fry ad. We will be attending because they have great fish! Also, my parents are Dan and Aldean Steinhagen of Waconia and they "make" us go!! Amy Hammers Carver, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you for your wonderful news-paper. It sometimes takes me two weeks to read all through the great articles written by you and your wonderful staff. Excellent work that you all do. Sylvia Quaas Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Please correct the item you printed in the March issue of the Gazette regarding Green Crest Drive being a private street. It has been proven to be "public" with supporting documentation. Earl and Virginia Hubbard Victoria, Minnesota
EDITOR'S NOTE: The linguistics of "public" versus "private" was not the real issue at hand. Agreements with develop-ers were related to streets or setbacks not built to city standards, which can make snowplowing difficult, for example.
To the Editor: I've enclosed a check to cover another year of the Gazette. Just want you to know that I always look forward to receiving my Gazette every month as it is well written, informative, and entertain-ing - just what a good newspaper should be. Thanks for all of your hard work. Mary Hadaway Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I enjoy the Gazette so much. It's the best reading paper in the world. Thank you, thank you, for all of the good news. Found the fishhook on page 16 in the fish fry ad of St. Joe's in Waconia. Marcy Jaspers Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Good morning. Today, March 1st, in 1457, the Moravian Church was born in Czechoslovakia out of the teachings of John Hus and the leading of God's Spirit. Please take a moment in prayer today, giving thanks as well as seeking God's power and love to lead us into the next years of history as His faithful servants, and giving us the wisdom to discern the leading of His Spirit in service. Bless-ings, love, and peace. Pastor Frank Jones Lake Auburn Moravian Church
EDITOR'S NOTE: Blessings and all good things to you, Frank, and to your church members and friends. Did I ever tell you that the very first feature story I wrote for the Victoria Gazette (Issue #5 in 1979) was about the Moravian Church in general, Lake Auburn Moravian Church in particular? It is true! May Christianity be born and reborn and flourish through-out the community and the world. Love to you.
