Travel Connections.  In January and February we were out east and made stops in Wisconsin, Illinois, Tennessee, South Caroline, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.  We saw the Dreydoppel family in Nazareth, PA.  Sarah is married and a graduate of Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA.  She is teaching 7th grade.  Some of your readers will recall that Otto (with his family above) was the pastor here at the Lake Auburn Moravian Church in the late '80's.
Harriet and I were in Lebanon, PA, for our youngest granddaughter's 17th birthday.  Jamie
(right) will be graduating from high school in 2008, but has already taken enough special courses that she will start out as a sophomore in college.  Jamie is the daughter of our daughter Pam and her husband, The Rev. Richard Thierolf.

EDITOR'S NOTE:  Hello to Kayla's grand-parents,
Ron and Bonnie Fritz of Victoria.  When are you two snowbirds coming back to Minnesota?

Zach Vadnais of Victoria joined a group of outstand-ing high school students from across the United States taking part this spring in a unique leadership develop-ment conference in our nation's capital.  During the six-day program, the National Young Leaders Conference provides scholars with the opportunity to interact with a variety of personnel who operate within the three branches of government, the news media, and the inter-national community.  Son of Tim and Carol Vadnais, Zach was chosen to role play a congressman in the final Model Congress Session requesting passage of a new bill.  He was nominated to participate in the NYCL Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. by English teacher Mrs. Barbara Hoklin from Southwest Christian High School in Chaska.

Women's Hockey State Champions.  What happens when a group of moms who've watched way too many Mite, U8, Squirt, U10, Pee Wee, U12, Bantam, and High School hockey games decide to form a team?  Why, they win the State Championship, of course!
Led by coaches Mike Curti and Lisa Silkey with captains Diane Murphy and Colleen Good-rich and cheered on by husbands, children, parents, and other various family members and friends, the
Ice Pack went on a winning streak.
They finished the regular season of WHAM (Women's Hockey Association of Minnesota) 17-1-1- playing at the C3 level.  This put them into the State Hockey Tournament ranked #1 in their division.  At the tournament they beat the Brooklyn Bombers (10-1), Babes on Blades (5-0), Hot Flash (3-1), and finally Chicks With Sticks (2-1) at the Schwan's Super Rink in Blaine on March 18th
This was the first year the
Ice Pack played in the WHAM league.  Who would have guessed when these women started skating together at a Chicks With Sticks clinic ran by Coach Curti a few years ago, that they would end up champs?
