Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
Your friend Jim Lakin died shortly before you departed for Texas for your dad's birthday party.  I too will miss Jim Larkin and his memorable monthly article in the Victoria Gazette.

To the Editor:
Share the Fun is an opportunity for all the 4H clubs in Carver County to come to-gether and present six-minute skits.  The skits relate to 4H.  The participating clubs are judged by two judges and compete for the traditional first, second, and third places, but the Carver County 4H Ambas-sadors also instruct the judges to recog-nize the clubs with the best props, cos-tumes, etcetera.  The club who receives first place has the chance to perform its skit at the county and state fair.
Share the Fun 2005 will be held on Friday, April 15th, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium at Norwood Young Ameri-ca Central High School.  Everyone is wel-come to attend.  For more information or if you have questions, please call the Car-ver County Extension Office at 952-442-4496.
Who will make a surprise star appearance at the 2005 Share the Fun performance?  No one knows, so you'll just have to come and find out.

To the Editor:
I really enjoy your paper.  You mailed it to me a lifetime ago when my name was Colson.  I have since divorced, remarried, and moved to Victoria.  Stop by and see us in your travels!  Second house on the first fairway at Deer Run.
Scratching your head?  Can't remember me?  Your husband Al was City Manager in Wayzata at the time we became acquainted.  I am originally from Norway.  Ja, you betcha!

EDITOR'S NOTE:  I do remember you and especially your "foreign" accent.  Are you still working as a flight attendant?

To the Editor:
Our Administration Department doesn't yet have the name of the funeral home either.  However, I did get the name and phone number for the local florist the firm used in the past to send Mr. Larkin flowers for his birthday, etc.  They would have all the information you'd need too.
I would appreciate it if you would send me a copy of Mr. Larkin's hand-written note for his last article in the Gazette last month, if you still have it, as well as the final product.  You can email it to me if that is easier or just drop a copy in the mail to the firm.
Enjoy your trip to Texas.  Thanks.

To the Editor:
Thanks for the nice picture of Dave and Vic on the front page of your March issue of the Gazette.  We got a good laugh out of the caption.  Old?  Yes.  Grumpy?  Not usually.  Keep up the great job.  Enclosed is our renewal for another year.  It's a bargain.

To the Editor:
I was perusing the March 2005 issue of the Gazette last evening and saw the picture, in the back as part of Victoria Moments, of Victoria Brownie Troop 959.  I went online to see if it was available for viewing and was not able to find it.  Is that picture available for online viewing?  I thought I was maybe looking in the wrong location on your website.  If you have a moment, could you please let me know?  Thank you.

EDITOR'S NOTE:  The entire paper edition is not printed online, and certainly not all of the pictures.  But under the Victoria Moments click you should find the caption information on Troop 959.  Thank you for being interested.

To the Editor:
Greetings!  Jim Werdin grew up in the Victoria area, so we thought you may be interested in running the attached press release about his insurance agency moving to a larger location in Eden Prairie, or even writing a business profile about him.  Just let me know if you are interested or if I can get more information for you.  Thanks much.

To the Editor:
Not sure if you have sent out all the March editions yet, but I just wanted to let you know that I haven't received mine.  Also wanted to let you know that I truly enjoy the Gazette and I look forward to it each month.  Thanks again.
