Letters-April '05 continued

To the Editor:
My name is Aubrey Hall.  In my fifth grade class we are doing a state research project and I will be doing my project on Minnesota.  The project is due at the end of May and it will cover such topics as famous people from Victoria and Minnesota, your special state traditions, and the history of Victoria and Minnesota.
The reason that I am writing to your local paper is to ask if you could publish my letter in your paper.  I am hoping that some of the members of your community would write to me and tell me about their experiences and traditions in Victoria.
I would even enjoy it if they would share their favorite recipes with me.  I live in southern California and am sure many things about Victoria are very different from where I live.  Also, if any of the citi-zens find time to reply, it would be great if they could enclose a copy of my "published" letter.
Thank you so much for taking time to read my letter.  Any information would be most appreciated.
Sincerely,
Aubrey Hall

To the Editor:
I gladly will pay $10 to read how my hometown of Victoria is growing and how you stir memories of over 50 years ago for me.  Victoria's new public elementary school reminds me of going to "grade school" in Victoria over 50 years ago.  Mrs. Ruben Lohr was our teacher, and a great one.  Our 8th grade class of 1952 had three boys -- Jerry Maass, Harry Kowalke, and myself -- and three girls Beverly  Monsun, Connie Wier, and Elaine Klatt.  Three right-handers and three left-hand-ers.  Connie went on to be valedictorian at Minnetonka High and Elaine at Waconia High.
Yes, Sue, you do bring back to me some great times spent in Victoria.

To the Editor:
I am sending a check for my sub-scription and for my daughter Janell.  She enjoys reading my issues of the Gazette.  So it's her birthday on the 21st and I thought she'd really enjoy this.
We sure enjoyed your dad's birthday party and visiting with all of you kids.  Was so much fun.  Thank you so much.

To the Editor:
Thanks for the extra Gazettes [with the picture of Rob Raiche reading the Gazette in Iraq] and for coming to Rob's party at the Legion in Mound.  We all had a good time.  Hope you did too.

To the Editor:
I would like a map of Victoria in your paper.  We left Victoria in 1936, and you write of so many changes.

To the Editor:
My mother, Ida Plocher, will be 103 years old on Wednesday, April 6th.  We will have coffee and cake for friends who visit the Good Samaritan Care Center that evening at 7 p.m.  If people would like to send Mother a card, her address is Good Samaritan Center, 333 West 5th Street, Apt. #211, Waconia, MN 55387.  Thank you, Sue.

To the Editor:
You cannot imagine how much we've missed your Victoria Gazette!  Our living arrangements have been in such flux but now we are delighted to have found a per-manent place to live for our new winter residency here in Florida.  Please renew our subscription now that we are more settled.
We have so missed reading your columns and getting the local news in Victoria.  Thanks again for your inspiring paper.  Thank you for helping with our benefit again this year.  You are a super friend through our Mary and we treasure that friendship and learning from you.

I'm as fond of your paper as ever.  Love the pictures of your grandkids.  Hello to Allan.

To the Editor:
Greetings from sunny Arizona, some days sunny and some days cold.  Just like Minnesota, I guess.  Thanks again for sending the Gazette out here.  We enjoy it.  Keep it going!  We found the fishhook on page 39 in the Victoria Gazette scroll.
