Letters-April '05 continued

To the Editor:
Hi, Sue.  A big thank you for another year of great reading.  Please keep me on your mailing list.  As I was reading your information about the Gazette being in business since 1979, and where to send my subscription check, I found the fish-hook!  Happy St. Pat's Day to all

You can be proud, Sue.  The Gazette always means so much to so many.

To the Editor:
Enjoy Mike Wartman's column.  Bill lived in Victoria from '48 to '56 on County Road 11, next to the old Grimm farm.  They milked by hand for years and no indoor bathroom!  Then he joined the Air Force and his folks moved to Waconia and didn't give him the address.  Just kidding.  Here's $10 for the paper.
The fishhook is on page 39 in the Victoria Gazette mailing ad.  We look for the hook every month.  Bill usually finds it first.  If I don't find it the first look through, I turn the paper upside down and look again.  It works.

To the Editor:
Thanks for all the news each month in the Gazette.  It's so good to have the news from my hometown.  The Hauwillers all went to St. Victoria Catholic Grade School from 1940 to 1954.  Whoever doesn't know we had a Victoria Catholic and Victoria public school must not have been born when we had the schools for many years.
Keep up your wonderful and homey paper.  The Benedictine sisters who were teachers and students at St. Victoria Catholic School appreciate your paper.  Thanks, and God bless you and your family.
Congratulations to parents Jenny and Christopher and grandparents Sue and Allan on a baby boy.  I was at Abbot Northwestern hospital for back surgery just some days after the new baby arrived.

To the Editor:
I wrote up a little reminder for the citizens of Victoria about what Easter is, and how we can act more like Jesus.
Easter is the celebration of Jesus Christ rising from the dead to free us from sin.  It is not a time of sorrow for His death; it is a time of happiness for His life.  So to remind everyone of some of the great things Jesus did in His life, I will name just a few.  In this day and age, we could use a little reminder of how to live.
Jesus helped the poor, the needy, and the oppressed.  He did not push them aside and let them make it on their own.  He actually went into their homes and made them feel as if they were of the same importance as the upper class.
Jesus did not objectify women.  He treated them with the kindness and decency they deserve.
Jesus spoke of love.  He did not deny love to anyone, and told us to love one another as He loves us.
Jesus was welcoming of all people.  When He saw someone, He saw the inside, not the outside.  Someone may look intimidating or unapproachable, but Jesus treated them with respect and dignity.
There are many other characteristics of Jesus Christ.  These are just a few very important ones that I feel some people have forgotten about.  We need to free our minds and accept Jesus.  He taught us these things for a reason.

To the Editor:
I'm reading the Gazette to find out more about my fellow choir members.  Cowboy Tom sure has some good jokes.  I found the fishhook in your subscription notice on page 39, as the scroll turns up-ward.  Hope you had a great family get together in Texas to celebrate your father's birthday.  See you at choir, prac-ticing for our Easter celebration.  Alleluia.

To the Editor:
I was just wondering if you have any information about School of the Wise re-garding when and if they're hiring.  I would assume they need employees before they can open.  If you have the owner's contact information or know of how I could get an application, please let me know.  Thanks for your time.

To the Editor:
Each year the Carver County Licensed Child Care Association (CCLCCA) awards a family daycare provider with the title Provider of the Year.  This is a wonderful way for the community to "celebrate" the profess-sional daycare providers in our county.
The association is asking that you run the enclosed article in your paper to help get the word out to the community to recognize the work of the licensed day-care provider they feel merits this award.
The nominee must have been a licensed child care provider for at least three years who has not received this award for at least ten years and fit other criteria.
Anyone may nominate a child care provider for this award.  Visit our website at www.cclchildcare.org or call me at 952-361-6609 for more information and a nomination form.  Nominations must be postmarked by May 1st, 2005.
