District 112 Foundation received a $3,000 donation from three local banks: First National Bank of Chaska, Victoria State Bank, and The Chanhassen Bank. The District 112 Foundation awards grants to teachers and staff who go beyond the basics in education, who develop innovative programs stressing creativity, resourcefulness, relevance, and excellence. Champions again! After completing their most successful season in three years of varsity play, the Holy Family FIRE received more good news. For the second straight year, the Boys' Basketball team clinched the Section 4A Academic Championship. Recipients of this award are evaluated based on players' Grade Point Averages, and winners receive a plaque and banner to be displayed in recognition of the award. Members of the team are: Seniors Brian Boyce (Eden Prairie), Rob Fafinski (Chaska), Mike Gladney (Greenwood), Matt Kielty (Eden Prairie), Ben Minger (Chanhassen), Joe Murphy (Eden Prairie), and James Peterson (Minnetonka). Juniors Tanner Anderson (Eden Prairie), Tom Bergner (Chaska), Dan Berquist (Chanhassen), Zack Chalgren (Chaska), Tyler Johnson (Chanhassen), Matt Michels (Chanhassen), and Joe Westerhaus (Chanhassen). Congratulations, Larry. The Western District of the Moravian Church in North America elected the Rev. Lawrence R. Christianson of Waconia, MN, as its president during the Western District Synod held in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, March 25-28, 2004. The Western District consists of 40 recognized Moravian congregations throughout Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. Pastor Christianson served at the Lake Auburn Moravian Church in Victoria from 1980-1981.
