Letters-April 2004 continued

To the Editor:
Minnesota Valley Electric Coopera-tive's Operation Round Up trust board recently donated $1,495 to the Victoria Fire Department.  The grant will be used for the purchase of three new nozzles for their water pumper truck.  Victoria's Fire Chief Gary Sohns received the check on behalf of the fire department.
Operation Round Up dollars are made available by MVEC members who have opted to have their electric bills rounded up to the next highest dollars and, in turn, help neighbors and communities.  If you are a member of MVEC and would like to participate in Operation Round Up (ORU) or would like to receive an application for funds, please contact MVEC at 952-492-2313 or 1-800-6832.
Minnesota Valley Electric is a Touch-stone Energy Cooperative and provides service to 27,000 members.

You have one of the greatest news-papers I have ever read.  Your thoughtful-ness for individuals and values are the highest.  Thank you.

To the Editor:
Hi, Sue.  Thanks again for the great feature story you wrote about the CAP Agency Food Shelf for your Christmas 2003 issue of the Gazette.  I continue to get comments about it and know that it has increased community support for our work here at CAP.
I am attaching a last minute appeal for MN Food Share as we are quite short of our goal and we really depend on this effort to stock the shelves.  I'm not sure of your publication time, but if you could include this or a general appeal for help in your April issue of the Gazette, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

To the Editor:
Thanks again for keeping my Victoria roots in front of me once a month.  When I first see the Victoria Gazette, it takes me back to the Saturday night Band Concerts where my biggest concern was whether to spend my whole allowance of a dime or save a nickel of it for a few weeks and then splurge and get a chocolate malted milk at the Cafe.  They were soooo good.
Have a great ...

To the Editor:
Hi, Sue.  Thanks for the picture and story about the Red Hat Mommas.  Our next fun outing will be at Marshall Fields Flower Show in April.  Why not start a group of ladies from Victoria to join the Red Hat Society?  It's fun.

To the Editor:
It's going on 25 years that I've lived in Arizona.  That is longer than my grow-ing up years in Victoria way back when.  But it is still fun to read the Gazette and to see how the old hometown is evolving through your eyes, and ears, and words.  Thank you for keeping us all informed.
Sincerely,

To the Editor:
Keep up the good work, Sue.  The community appreciates your work.  Here's my money for the voluntary sub-scription.  Thank you!

To the Editor:
You do a great job of making the Gazette a great paper.  I love the pictures and front page stories.  My great grand-kids always want to find the fishhook before I get the paper.  They found it on page 6 on the turkey's head.  You also keep us updated on Father Elstan.  Thank you.
