The eyes have it.  How long can you take your eyes off a moving object?  When this zamboni grooms the ice at the Victoria Field House, eyes will be on "Victoria State Bank" and "The Chanhassen Bank" and "First National Bank of Waconia" and "First National Bank of Chaska."

Members of the team are:
Seniors Tim Amundsen, Justin Evander, Tom Quammen, and JP Savaryn; Juniors Brian Boyce, Rob Fafinski, Mike Gladney, Matt Kielty, Ben Minger, Joe Murphy, and James Peterson; and Sophomore Tyler Johnson.  Captains are JP Savaryn and Mike Gladney.

So help me, God.  Sheriff Bud Olson swears in new officers for the Carver County Sheriff's Mounted Posse.  (L-r):  Second Lieutenant Julie Towle, Sergeant Anne Hanson, First Lieutenant Scott Knight, and Captain Fred Graupmann.  The mounted posse is a voluntary group in the Sheriff's Department trained in search and rescue.  They may also be seen patrolling parks or doing security work such as Winstock Country Music Festival.

Oh, Beautiful, for Spacious Skies.
This 2003 Floral Flag is 740 feet long, 390 feet wide, and maintains the proper Flag dimensions as described in Executive Order #10834.  This Flag is 6.65 acres, and is the first Floral Flag to be planted with five-pointed stars comprised of white larkspur.  Each star is 24 feet in diameter.  Each stripe is 30 feet wide.
This flag is estimated to contain more than 400,000 larkspur plants with four to five flower-stems each, for a total of more than two million flowers.  You can drive by this flag on V-Street South of Ocean Avenue in Lompoc, California.
Between this field where the flag is planted, there are over nine miles of flower fields that go all the way to the ocean.  The flowers are grown by seed companies.  It's close to Vandenberg AFB.  Aerial photo by Bill Morson.

Right Reporting.
Carver County was again awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2002.  Only 10 of Minnesota's 87 counties are recipients, and Carver County has received this award for the past six consecutive years.  Carver County Controller Fred Boethin credits his staff for their work in earning this prestigious national award.  Pictured above (l-r):  Jeremy Carter, Donna Meyer, Jim Koch, Mark Schaefbauer, Fred Boethin, and Tom Workman, Chairman of the Carver County Board of Commissioners.

Close to Home.  Many Carver County residents dropped by to welcome Arc Hennepin-Carver to its new office in downtown Chaska during a recent Open House.  Among the visitors were (l-r) Kim Keprios of Minneapolis, Arc's Executive Dire-ctor; Larry Kugler of Eden Prairie, secretary of Arc's Board of Directors; Senator Julianne Ortman of District #34A; David Saltzman of Chanhassen, president of Arc's board; Peggy Smith of Edina, treasurer of Arc's board.
