More Letters ~ April 2003

It is gratifying to have the business community partner with the city on com-munity building events such as this.  I want to thank Mary Meuwissen for chair-ing this effort, and Nan Emmer and Mike Ayres for teaming with Mary to make this happen.
Finally, I want to thank Bobby, Dan, and John at the Victoria House for cater-ing the afternoon and evening events.  The food was great as always.  Thanks, also, to the Victoria Lions for providing the evening beverage service.
An important benefit of the day's activities was that nearly 2,000 people got to see our new field house.  Feedback we received at the open house indicates our residents are very impressed with this new facility.
I am hoping people will make the field house a regular part of their recre-ational and exercise activity.  If you haven't seen the facility yet, stop by for a visit and a tour.

To the Editor:
My name is John Ballard and I am in sixth grade at Magelssen Elementary School in Fosston, Minnesota.  My class-mates and I have been studying Minnesota history by going on the Internet and exploring the Minnesota web site.
We are also doing a project where we pick a newspaper in Minnesota and ask them to send a copy of their newspaper as part of our grade package.  So I ask you to please send me a complimentary copy of your newspaper.  Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.

To the Editor:
I want to thank you for printing the obituary of Mildred Fischer, my mom, in your last Gazette.  Also, a very sincere thank you to anyone who in anyway expressed their sympathy.  The gifts of money have been used for Masses, the new education center at St. Joe's in Waconia, and the Ridgeview Foundation.  Also a special place will always be in our hearts for the second floor nurses and aids at Good Samaritan, as well as others there who were always so kind and understand-ing.

To the Editor:
Hi, Sue.  Keep up the good work.  Sorry I missed you at Victoria on Ice.  I sponsor a Senior Citizens St. Patrick's Party in my hometown of Waverly -- 33rd year.  Next year maybe we can have St. Patrick's himself skate at Victoria's Green Ice.

To the Editor:
Hi.  We were wondering if you would consider running our press release on our purchase of our store, All About Lights.  We are trying to get the word of new ownership out as quickly as possible in the area.
I am a resident of Deer Run and read your paper faithfully.  We would be inter-ested in reviewing your advertising rates.  Thanks a lot.

To the Editor:
I am pleased to enclose $10 for Esther Krey's subscription to the Gazette.  On May 5th, 2003, Esther will be 95 and you may desire to do a human interest story on her.  She is a resident of Auburn West in Waconia.  I have always teased the Kreys that the water on their farm had special properties as Esther, her husband, his brother, and his brother's wife all lived to be over 90.  Krey is pronounced like "cry."

To the Editor:
Hi, Sue.  We are moving from Victoria but want to continue receiving the Gazette.  Please add our new address to your mailing list.  Thanks for a fun local paper.
