Our granddaughter Sophie Orsen got riding lessons and a two-day Horse Camp as a Christmas gift from her parents.

On Friday, June 29th, we drove up to Coon Rapids for a show put on by the Bunker Park Stables.

Sophie handled her horse — a pretty appaloosa named “Oboe” — very well and sat up so straight and proper in the saddle.

I was surprised to see how much she learned in two short days.

Sophie now can trot a bit, steer a horse around poles, and maneuver small obstacles, not to mention mount and dismount all by herself.

Sophie’s little sister Mia and Sophie’s friend Sarah joined the picture.
