Schram Winery

It was a hot and humid Friday evening in August that we found a perfectly picturesque spot in the shade less than ten minutes down the road.

From that spot in the shade, we viewed a vineyard, a lake, cornfields, and a brewery.

The full name of this place located in the country between Victoria and Waconia tells part of the story:  “Schram Vineyards Winery and Brewery.”

Another part of the story is told this way:  “It began as the dream of the farm boy who loved making wine.  He met an uptown girl with a taste for wine and beer and they put their roots in the fields of Waconia in 2008.  The dream came to fruition when they opened their doors in 2013.”

Thank you, Schram Winery, for a lovely summer’s evening.

Did someone say wine?  It was another lovely summer’s evening in August that we were invited for dinner to Fred and Mary Sue Plocher’s summer home in Waconia.  Nan and Jim Emmer are standing between Allan and me.
