On the Streets Where We Live

People congregate on downtown streets in Victoria for Classic Car Nights all summer long.  As you can see from the evening of August 22nd, no street is more popular than Stieger Lake Lane.  The movie and the lyrics seem written for Victoria.

I have often walked down the streets before

But the pavement always stayed beneath my feet before.

Some Victoria folks enjoying Classic Car Night on Wednesday, August 22nd. Front:  Father Bob White and Arlo.  Standing (l-r):  Theo Chalgren, Terry Smith, John Hayes, Rick Stucki, and Joe Hamilton.

Rich Gannon opens his private stash of classic automobile paraphernalia to visitors once or twice each summer on Classic Car Nights.  Found on the street (Randy’s Way) in front of the Gannon Building (l-r):  Allan Orsen, Alphonse Lehner, James Paulsen, and Richard Gannon.  Thank you for the hug, Rich.

Dick and Diann Weinzierl, who for years owned and operated Weinzierl Jewelry in Waconia, joined the crowd on the streets of Victoria, also on August 22nd.

All at once am I several stories high (think, Victoria Flats)

Knowing I’m on the street where you live.

People stop and stare, they don’t bother me,

For there’s no where else on earth that I would rather be.

Are there lilac trees in the heart of town?

Can you hear a lark in any other part of town?

Does enchantment pour out of every door?

No, it’s just on the street where you live.

People stop and stare, they don’t bother me.

For there’s no where else on earth that I would rather be.
