Munchkins in Masquerade

Main Street in Downtown Victoria was moving with many Munchkins in masquerade on Saturday afternoon, October 29th, and their attire left no doubt that it was the Halloween Season.  Most of the little people were not dressed as ghosts, goblins, or ghouls but, rather, favorite characters from books, television, big screen, and real life.  Scary does seem more suited for bigger kids.

Another mild fall day helped ensure a good turnout for the Victoria Lions who sponsored the afternoon, worked the various Halloween games, distributed prizes, and served food.  Thank you, Victoria Lions, for serving the community in so many ways.  And thank you, Victoria Business Owners Association, for becoming a partner in bringing us this fun family event.

Patrick Senescall of Victoria holds his youngest child, Audrey, 8 months, kneeling next to daughter Vivian, 20 months.   On the left are cousins Gavin, 18 months, and Wyatt, 3 years, children of Justin and Nicole Stueve.

Five little girls standing on the street corner, arm in arm, from little to big:  Paige Stratton, Josie Lakosky, Sami Gates, Gabrielle Rijken, and Kate Simington.

Ryan and Madison Wolf of Victoria with their children Danika, 10, and Georgia, 6.

Magician Jim Kostick, who is a Fridley Lion, returned again this fall to perform for Victoria kids.

Carver County Commissioner Randy Maluchnik morphed into a monster and Marta Christensen, owner of Victoria Rose Floral, enjoyed her new best friend.

At left, Frankenstein's monster visited businesses in Downtown Victoria including School of the Wise.  That little tyke in the high chair didn't take his eyes off the unusual looking character.  As you can see, Winston Churchill presided over the whole affiar.

Randy Miller, president of the Victoria Business Owners Association, allowed Mary Moore of Victoria to dip deep into his bag of sweet treats.

Lion Kurt Zuppke usually runs around with a camera, like the editor.  See Kurt's photos on pp. 16-17

Dr. Tim Sebenaler, Victoria Lion and chairman of this Halloween event, assisted kids who went fishing for prizes in Swamp Spook.

The crew at Floyd's on Saturday afternoon included Mike McGee (strawman friend of the Munchkins in Wizard of Oz), Tiffany Kroening, and Andy Chamberlin, Pirate of the Caribbean.

No, our Tioga Munchkins  were not in Victoria for Halloween, but their mom sent me this picture that night so I’d recognize them in case they rang our doorbell.

Boo.
