The Providence of a New City Hall by Sue Orsen/The Victoria Gazette“In the new millennium, the downtown business district began to once again prosper.  Integral to this development was municipal water, which only arrived in 1989.  The new Victoria City Hall is part of the developing story.  It’s providential.”  Click on Front Page.

On Becoming a Grandfather by Mike Wartman, Former Resident of Victoria.  “This new addition on the planet may not have any meaning, significance, or relevance to the Victoria Gazette faithful, but it made me a grandfather for the first time.”

Chronicling the Birth of the New City Hall by Sue Orsen.  “Conception occurred some years ago and it was a long and difficult pregnancy.  But as with the birth of a child, the birth of the new Victoria City Hall put smiles on faces.  The long and arduous journey will be celebrated on a grander scale with tours and a Grand Opening on March 7th.”

Picking the Mayor’s Mind by Sue Orsen.  Replied Mayor Tom O’Connor, “Additional parking spaces will be created in downtown when the old City Hall is demolished, which could be as early as this summer.”

They Came Up North by Chuck Freiberg, Up North Cabin Guy.  “Over the past four years we’ve invited a couple that we have become very good friends with, to come up and spend a few days with us at the cabin.  They finally came for a visit.”

The Swing Plane by Tom Abts, Deer Run Golf Pro.  “I just finished reading ‘The Plane Truth for Golfers’ by Jim Hardy, a famous golf instructor who claims there are two types of golf swings, the one-plane swing and the two-plane swing.”

Transparency, Transportation, Trucking, Technology by Carver County Commissioner Randy Maluchnik.  “On February 12th I had the privilege of testifying before the MN House of Representatives Subcommittee on Metropolitan Council Accountability and Transparency.”

Summer Detours Due to More Hwy 5 Construction by Sue Orsen.  “Hwy 5 between Scandia Road and the Victoria DQ will be totally closed during the entire construction season, May to October.  That stretch of road is scheduled for reconstruction, new turn lanes, an 8-foot paved shoulder, and improved drainage.”

Christian Rubber Meets the Road  by Pastor Maureen Bonner, Biblical Counselor.  “Man has tried to take control of his own life and be independent of God ever since Eve bit into the fruit.  We must decide to follow God’s desires for us.”

Stahl Completes New Victoria Facilities by Jessie Houlihan Bingen, Stahl Construction.  “The municipal sector is a major focus for Stahl and we are proud to construct two facilities for the City of Victoria that will meet the community’s needs for many years to come.”

How Trixie was Reunited with Her Human Family by Niki Taylor, Member of The Retrievers.  “Those first few days, Trixie traveled from her house across the frozen lake at least a mile.  Over the next days, sightings of Trixie were reported to us.”

The Last Lions Pancake Breakfast at the Hall by Author.  “The Victoria Village Hall is slated for demolition this summer.”

Mount Olivet Motorheads by Deb Kind, Mount Olivet Lutheran Church-West Campus in Victoria.  “This 7th annual was held in Warren Herreid’s home in Minnetrista.  Over 250 people attended the event.”
