To the Editor:

Bravo for the honor you've given our dear friends, Jeanne and Tommy Thompson, with the beautiful front page story of their 70 years.  The photos used and the stories they told you in the June issue of the Gazette were so wonderfully composed, dear Sue.  We've loved Jeanne and Tommy for over 50 years and are thrilled with your Gazette tribute to them.  Thank you, Sue, and thank you, Mary Mitchell Wallace, who contacted you about their milestone anniversary and wonderful life.

Ted and I toasted the Thompsons after I picked up some extra copies for them at the City  Hall.  Jeanne said you will bring them more papers so they'll be supplied for family and friends.

You do such a great job on the Gazette, and it has been a joy to see and read about your family's growth and your adventures.  We are our stories, and I thank you again for sharing the Thompsons' beautiful story with our community.

Blessings to you and yours, dear Sue, and here's to music too!  I'm now music director at the Congregational Church of Excelsior.  Sunday's Pentecost-Confirmation service reminds me of the wonderful way the Spirit works in our lives as we spread joy .  You know how to do that.

To the Editor:

After reading your newsy paper, what do I see on page 18?  A fishhook hiding in Sweeten Your Ride on the KleinBank ad.  Keep up your good work.  Best wishes.

To the Editor:

That day of being another year older (July 24th) is coming soon for me ... 49 and still kicking but not very high.  A couple years ago at River City Days I saw high school classmates toting grandkids and I didn't even recognize those gals as their complexion changed as well as their hair.  One gal's blond hair was marbled with white hair and the other gal had crow's feet.  I got them too but hers were more like ostrich feet.  Even the photo of Delbert Schmieg in a recent edition of the Gazette shows him bald on top with glasses.  I could still picture him in biology class in 10th grade driving me nuts when the teacher Mr. Ress was out of the room.  I had the impression Delbert was trying to get me in trouble for excessive talking and I wasn't going to fall for it.  I kept at the studies and Delbert kept chatting.  Mr. Ress came  back in and Delbert got told to be quiet.  Busted!  His mom Dorlene came to the apartment to visit a neighbor recently and she said Delbert liked to talk.  Next year, 2015, I'll be 50.  When Mom was 50, I was in 7th grade.  Dad was 50 in 1973.  I was in 3rd grade.

Thanks for the fishhook prize in the June issue.  Totally unexpected.  It's hidden on page 18 in the July issue in the KleinBank ad.

To the Editor:

The Boppidy Bop Bop Bops thank the Victoria Gazette for your generous support of our wonderful trip to Knoxville, TN, for Global Competition in Destination Imagination.  Minnesota was well represented as we competed with 41 other states and 15 countries.  You helped to make a dream come true for students at Wilshire Park Elementary here at St. Anthony, Minnesota.  We had the trip of a lifetime.

We love reading about the little ones and the elders too.  I loved the story about your parents in the May Gazette.  We are up for a dinner cruise or any time together.

To the Editor:

It's hard to believe that it's been a year since we poured our first beer.  Now, one year and nearly 150,000 pints later (really!) we are celebrating.  On Saturday, June 21st, we are holding our 1st Anniversary party from noon till 11 p.m.  We hope you'll join us.

We also want to thank you for supporting us.  Whether it was your support at city council as we applied for permits, or building the brewery, or advising us, or bringing food over for guests at our grand opening party, or your patronage throughout the year, and your words of encouragement, you have made us feel welcome and such a part of the community.

Victoria is a great place and we love being here.  We're looking forward to having some fun on the 21st with all of our new friends.
