A Year of Salutations by Sue Orsen. An overview of 2012 shows that it was a year of salutations in Victoria.  We saluted — greeted and recognized — people and events in many ways throughout the year.”

Remember When Victoria Firefighters Roger Leuthner, Ken Schmieg, and Steve Weber retired from the Victoria Fire Department?  It happened in 1993.  Together they represent more than 74 years of service to the Department.

Remember When Victoria Lion Whitey Wellens received another prestigious award for being a 100% Lions Secretary?  It was 1993, the 16th year in a row that he received this award.

Remember When Victoria functioned without a labor union?  In 1993 three Public Works employees went on strike; it was the first (and only) strike in the history of Victoria.
