Happy 60th, Uncle Jim and Aunt Julie

My Uncle Jim and Aunt Julie Claeys of Ghent, MN, were married on June 23rd, 1953, at the Catholic Church in nearby Tracy, MN where Julie was from.  My Uncle Jim Claeys is my dad Joe’s younger brother.  I remember parts of the wedding day 60 years ago because I was their flower girl.  I remember it was very, very hot, even for a little girl.  I remember tables and tablecloths and chairs all set up outside in somebody’s yard, and that’s where many people were eating and there were big trees and shade but it was very, very hot.  I remember sitting at the table in somebody’s dining room which was unfamiliar to me and it was very, very hot.  I knew that it was Jimmy who was getting married but I wasn’t sure just exactly if my Grandma By Jimmy would get a new last name.

Thank you, Jim and Julie, for a fun evening.  It was fun to be with you and your family.
