Sometimes you don’t need a lot of words to describe the spirit of a town. |
You can feel it when you step into businesses that have been around for a while . . . |
. . . and you can feel the start of it in some of the businesses that have sprouted in more recent times. |
Victoria has the opportunity to continue the growth and yet remain a town with a welcoming spirit . . . |
. . . a kind and generous spirit . . . |
. . . a town that gives more than it takes and recognizes a neighbor in everyone. |
Victoria is fortunate to have a defined downtown district . . . |
. . . one that is not so large that you have to drive to get from one business to another . . . |
. . . but you can stroll the walks and stop a moment at a sidewalk café . . . |
. . . one that is not so small that you have to visit other places down the road to find what you’re looking for. |
Victoria is inviting in many ways. |
As we’ve just honored a veteran’s spirit and sacrifice on Memorial Day, . . . |
. . . and as we approach Flag Day in June … |
. . . and then come to celebrate Independent Day in July . . . |
. . . We can see the spirit that propels a city, a nation, a people, especially if you take a lot of pictures. |
