Emerald Crest of Victoria

The most recent jewel in the crown of Victoria is Emerald Crest of Victoria, an assisted living memory care home for senior citizens, constructed among neighborhoods and along a ravine at the intersection of Bavaria Road and 86th Street.  Approximately 75 community people attended a grand opening celebration on October 13th, 2005, having been invited to tour the facility, meet the stonecutters, and make introductions.

Dan DuRose, Food Director at Emerald Crest, prepared an array of afternoon delicacies including a chocolate fountain, strawberries, and delicious large shrimp.  Jen Lindgren, left, and Sara Lindgren, sisters who helped with hospitality, are Certified Nursing Assistants at Emerald Crest.

Craig Ulrich, Insurance Broker for Emerald Crest, visits with Margaret Owens, Owner and Chief Operating Officer at Emerald Crest.

Victoria City Councilmember Richard Tieden, left, was very instrumental in bringing Emerald Crest to Victoria.  He poses here with Owners and Managing Partners of Emerald Crest, Gregg Getchell (seated) and Joe Guertin.

Dee Chesser, left, is the Residence Director of Emerald Crest of Minnetonka.  (There is also an Emerald Crest of Burnsville and an Emerald Crest of Shakopee!)  Nancy Hesse is the residence Director of Emerald Crest of Victoria, which can accommodate 30 seniors, each in private rooms.

Katie Guertin, left, is the daughter of (Emerald Crest Owner) Joe Guertin and Jeanne Guertin, also seated above.  Jan Tietz, standing, is the Office Manager of Emerald Crest.

Victoria Building Official Tom Gray, left, who made sure all codes were followed in the construction of Emerald Crest, and Joe Guertin.

Jerry Bohn, Mayor of the City of Victoria, and his wife Marlene.

Victoria City Councilmembers Richard Tieden and Kim Roden, seated with Dave Urbia, right, Interim Administrator of the City of Victoria while Steve Sarvi is on National Guard Duty in Iraq.

Carver County Sheriff Bud Olson receives the tour of Emerald Crest from Margaret Owens.

Christine Drasher, left, Director of Admissions and Community Relations, and Lynn Rosenburg of Westview Acres of Waconia.

Upon entering Emerald Crest of Victoria, one feels welcomed and comfortable.

Left to right, Renee Shore, Hillcrest of Wayzata; Jana Henderson, Director of Cognitive Care at Emerald Crest; Paul Borer, Ridgeview Medical Center of Waconia.

Jim Mach, Environmental Services Supervisor, keeps mechanical things working at Emerald Crest.

Emerald Crest does not appear institutional inside or outside, which is why it fits well in residential neighborhoods.  Thank you, Joe and Gregg, for the delicious lunch and for bringing Emerald Crest to Victoria.

The End

Love, Sue
