Drenched on Deck

It turned out to be a "Soaker Not a Sunner" on Lake Minnetonka, Friday, June 16th.  We could also call it "Wet on the Waves" or "Drip 'n Dry" or "Dripping Drama."  The next time the weatherman tells us there is an 80% chance of rain, we'll listen to him.  We were with John and Jan Flora.

At first it was kind of funny.

The captain got more serious at the wheel.

John got pelted as the boat sped across the lake.

Jan and I snacked and remained dry below.

There was not a dry spot on either Allan or John.

At one point everything came to a standstill.  Visibility was zero and so was navigation.

After a half hour trying to get across the lake in the drenching downpour, the rain subsided.

Smiles returned.  We were safe.

Since the men needed hot showers and dry clothes, we drove back to Lilac Lane and I did dinner at home -- T-bones on the grill and baked potatoes in the microwave.  We also watched videos on the kitchen TV of John and Jan's trip last fall to Czechoslovakia and Poland.  Then we went downstairs and watched a video of Allan and me dancing in Belgium a few years ago.

The End

Love, Sue
