City Staff and Public Works

One of the first things we see when we step inside the impressive new City Hall building, located on Stieger Lake Lane in downtown Victoria, is the above plaque that identifies those who played significant roles in getting the job done.  As of January 1st, 2019, only Cara and Ann remain.

The Victoria City Offices are located up the stairs on the second floor of the building.  In November 2018 the staff included (l-r): Paul Moretto (Sr. Planner), Gina Bresnahan (Permit/Administrative Tech), Cara Geheren (City Engineer), Patrick Smith, (Community Development Director), Ann Mahnke (Director of Public Works & Parks), Kelly Grinnell (Finance Director), Cindy Patnode (City Clerk), Doug Reeder (Interim City Manager), Trisha Pollock (Accounting Technician), Scott McCarty, (Building Official), Gwen Campbell (Communications and HR Manager), Andrew Heger (Victoria Fire Chief).

Here they are again.  This time the order is (l-r) Patrick, Ann, Gina, Cara, Paul, Kelly, Cindy, Doug, Trisha, Scott, Gwen, and Andrew.  Thank you, good folks, for all of your work on behalf of Victoria residents.  We appreciate you.

Some folks take the elevator downstairs.  I always take the stairs because it’s faster.

After going once again past the plaque and the front door, I stepped into the Victoria Library where I found Jodi Edstrom, Youth Services Librarian.  Jodi always makes me smile and I can’t imagine a better librarian in Victoria or anywhere.

Later I drove out to the new Public Works Building on Bavaria Road to take a picture of the Public Works crew.  My camera always has trouble with those reflective shirts so I asked if we couldn’t get rid of them for a minute.

Much better!  Thank you, guys.  (L-R):  Jeff Borg (PW Lead), Brady Lee, Ryan Lowe, Jason Clark, Ann Mahnke (Parks & Public Works Director), Randy Brandt, Al Zellmann, Dave Shoger.  Not pictured:  Chuck Almhjeld (Deputy Director of PW), and Corey Scharpe.  Thank you, folks, for doing such a great job snowplowing our streets and other good things.
