Christmas Downtown Victoria

Santa arrived in downtown Victoria on Saturday, December 1st, courtesy of the Victoria Fire Department and Carver County Commissioner Randy Maluchnik.  It was a balmy 50 degrees that afternoon.

Christmas carolers greeted Santa, and Santa greeted everyone, especially the little ones.

Santa knows how to meet people on their own level.

Lois Plocher of Floyd’s provides Smores Extreme, which were extremely abundant with ingredients.

Kathryn Paradise of Salon Spatoria stepped outside her shop to visit with a couple Smurfs on the loose.

Among the many other offerings to the many visitors that afternoon, Hartman Garden Center gave coupons toward the purchase of a live Christmas Tree.

The Victoria House had free Winter Warmers, Vic’s Bar and Grill had Tasty Cups of Eggnog, Crossroads Liquor held a Wine and Beer Tasting.

Fresh Seasons Market had cookie decorating for children and bags of food for the shelves of Bountiful Basket.

At 6 p.m. there was a tree lighting ceremony by Mayor Mary Thun and Hartman Communities of the Clock Tower Building.  Thank you, business people, city staff, and Santa for helping to usher in another wonderful Christmas season.

Love, the Gazette
