To the Editor:

Thanks, Sue, for the great coverage of our new pastor and family at Lake Auburn.  Liked the article and it’s very appreciated.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  I’m re-reading Prints of a Priest.  Last night I was laughing so hard in bed that Kramer got up and came over to see if I had finally gone crackers.  It was one of Father’s golf stories, when he hit his fellow padre in the left cheek pocket.  Ohmygosh!

Anaways, what brand of veggie dip did you bring to my place the other night?  It was really good.  See you in church.

         Tom Stumpf

         Cowboy Correspondent

To the Editor:

Thank you so much, Sue, for squeezing in the 4th Annual Joey Hebert Classic last time.  Saw it today.  Love it.

To the Editor:

I just returned from ten days in London with a group of fabulous girl scouts.  I thought you would enjoy reading the press release they put together.  Many of the girls live in Victoria.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  I can put you in contact with the girls if you would like to talk to them.  They are a fantastic group of ladies.  Thanks tons.

To the Editor:

Fifty years ago -- June 30th, 1960 -- Bank Cashier Erwin Holtmeier (my father) watched helplessly while an unshaven gunman put his day’s books deeply in the red in a midday robbery Friday.  Assistant Cashier Doris Borka (formerly Doris Wartman) of the Victoria State Bank was forced to hand over $1,021 in cash.  Authorities in a five-state area were alerted for a late model red and white car believed to be involved.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Enclosed is $20 for another year of your wonderful newspaper.  Carol York’s obituary was late, in the July issue, but pleased that you did it.  She was a terrific gal.

To the Editor:

Our new location has worked well for us.  It is so nice to have the sun shining in the windows.  It is hard to believe this is our 5-year anniversary.  How quickly time flies.  Have a great weekend.

To the Editor:

I am deeply saddened to report that Three Rivers Park District has taken no action regarding the elimination of noxious weeds in the form of Canadian thistles on the property across from where I live, which was once owned by the City of Victoria, a Baptist group, a Moravian group, and my great grandfather.

I have been informed by Three Rivers staff that they do not intend to cut any weeds on this property.  This means they do not desire to be good corporate citizens.  There is an ordinance to cut down noxious weeds before they go to seed.  The Canadian thistles across the street from our home are now going to seed.  I tried to cut them down, but being 80 years old, it was a job that I no longer desire to do.

One of their pickup trucks did stop and look at the noxious weeds along Carver County #11, but nothing was done.  There are other patches of Canadian thistles in this property.  Now I will be discussing this matter with the Carver County Attorney.
