At Victoria With Jenny

Jenny and her family — husband Chris and their kids Addie and Gunnar — arrived at our home in Victoria m Wednesday, April 12th.  The six of us drove to Marshall the next morning to see my parents for a couple days.  When we got back to Victoria, we celebrated Allan’s birthday (a few days early) and then Easter.

Jenny knows that her dad likes comfort clothes, especially in the evening.

Then it was time for her very special gift.

It is a Shutterfly book she put together, featuring her dad and many family events over the years, from when she and Nick were babies up to the present.  It includes photos and text about our camping trips to the Black Hills, to Yellowstone and Glacier, fishing trips to Ely and Lake Superior, family excursions to Mackinac Island.

The books includes Allan reading books in bed to her and Nick, giving them horsie back rides, high school and college graduations, getting married, and having kids of her own, and Allan’s presence for everything.  It is a special gift.  Thank you, Jenny.  Dad loves it.

I made bacon wrapped scallops and asparagus for supper one evening.

Jenny jumped up to take a picture with her phone.

Jenny also provided us with individual birthday cakes from Lakewinds.  They were delicious but we couldn’t eat them all.

Hi, Sweet Adeline.  Who are you texting!

I served ham and mashed potatoes and broccoli bacon salad and fresh fruit for dinner on Easter Sunday — after Easter Sunday Mass, of course, at St. Victoria.

Thank you for the Easter Lily, Jenny.

It was a gorgeous Easter Sunday so we sat outside on the deck and enjoyed the nice spring weather.

Jenny and I changed from our Easter Sunday dresses.  Addie kept hers on.
