A Four Day Weekend

Jenny and the kids took the train home twice in June!  The first time was for a graduation party (of Jenny’s friend Ramona’s daughter) and they lengthened the weekend to four days (June 5, 6, 7, 8) to spend time shopping and hanging out at home with us.

Before we got home from Union Depot in St. Paul, we shopped at Eden Prairie Center and Menard’s.  Jenny is updating their master bathroom in Tioga.  As you can see, Addie tried out one of the tubs.

Gunnar asked why this shower was only ten inches wide.  I showed him that it works just fine.

A tired boy.

Addie and Gunnar made me two more stove pads.  I love ‘em.  They are definitely  my favorites.  In fact, they’re the only ones I use anymore.

I got to hear Addie’s concert pieces.  Addie is really good and only has had one year of lessons.

Jenny brought a whole bag of clothes that Addie outgrew, for Sophie.

Sophie loved them and hugged some of the dresses.

Jenny is Sophie’s Godmother.

The “rock pile” roundabout at the bottom of our drive has pretty stones for collecting . . .

. . . and for arranging in a little cabinet I found at a church rummage sale.

The little girls take a break downstairs.

I’ve saved practically every game that Jenny and Nick had growing up, and we still play them.

And then, in the blink of an eye,  it was time for them to hop on the train back to Tioga.

Love, Grandma Sue

Sophie and Gumnar spent some time together in workbook from Grandma Sue.
