Jesse James Days-2004

Many people know that Jesse James and his outlaw gang of eight men robbed the bank in Northfield, Minnesota, ages ago -- like in 1876.  One of the things that made the Northfield bank robbery unique was that the townsfolk risked their lives to defend and ultimately defeat the robbers.  Well, the town of Northfield is still celebrating that heroism every fall with Jesse James Days.  This fall, for the very first time, Allan and I joined our kids for some of the festivities in their adopted hometown.  It was Friday, September 10th, the evening before we left for Cabo San Lucas.

These rubber duckies look just the one at home in Addie's bathtub.

Chris carried his daughter to top of a big slide for a joint rug run.

Addie is ready to try anything, just like her mom and dad.

Her grandma prefers the merry go round.

From the top of the Ferris wheel we could see buildings from Carleton College, Jenny's alma mater, in the distance.

Restin' easy.

One more ride on the merry go round before we go home, this time with Grandpa Al.

The End

Love, Grandma Sue
