The Baby's Room

It is Friday, January 17th, 2003, as I prepare this page and these photos.  Jenny's due date was Sunday, January 12th, so we're killing a little time together.   I spent Thursday,  January 16th, with Jenny at her home in Northfield, Minnesota, which is about one hour south of Victoria.  I took pictures of  the baby's room, which Jenny has had so much fun decorating, then we went shopping and had lunch.  It was a wonderful day.

Jenny used many colors and quilts in the baby's room at their farm in the countryside of Northfield, but red seems to be the dominant color.

An old barn window frame that Jenny painted and prepared for baby photos is mounted on the left.  An old barn ladder she found in the hay mount is now painted and stuffed with blankets and quilts from family members of old, some who have now gone to their eternal reward.

Allan and I bought the crib.  Jenny made the red gingham checked liners for all the baskets that hold baby things.

Jenny also made the matching red gingham valences atop the window and the open closet space.

Somebody's been sitting on the bed!  This wood rocker is the same rocker in which I spent many hours many years ago rocking Jenny and also her little brother Nick during the day and in the middle of the night as I nursed them and coddled them and kept them from all harm.

It was fun to spend the day with you Jenny.  Love you. ~Mom.

The End

Love, Sue
